Kite Meadow Privacy Policy

Last updated:

This policy covers the Kite Meadow app for iPhone and iPad.

Your library stays on your device

Kite Meadow stores your learning library in the app on your device. You do not need an account. The app does not use analytics or advertising, and it does not automatically upload your library to a developer-operated service.

Your library can include child profiles, names, optional birth dates, profile notes, journal entries, learning dates, subjects, tags, reflections, next steps, imported photographs, photo captions and report drafts.

Photographs you choose

You choose which photographs to import using Apple's Photos picker. Kite Meadow keeps a copy of the selected images in its local library. It does not browse your whole photo library.

Reports, backups and sharing

You can export PDF reports and complete library backups. These files can contain children's names, dates, notes and photographs. You choose where to save them and who to share them with.

Once you save or share a file outside the app, the recipient or service you choose controls that copy. Deleting something in Kite Meadow does not remove copies you have already exported or shared.

Apple device backups and cloud sync

Your Apple device-backup settings may include Kite Meadow's app data in a device backup. Those backups are managed through your device and Apple backup settings.

Kite Meadow does not provide its own cloud sync. To move your library to another installation, export a complete backup and restore it in Kite Meadow on the other device.

Editing and deleting information

You can edit and delete journal entries and child profiles in the app. Deleting a child profile preserves its journal entries and removes that child's assignment. Affected reports must be reviewed before they can be exported again.

Deleting the app removes its local library. Files you previously exported or shared remain wherever you saved them. Device backups are managed separately through your backup settings.

Contacting support

If you email support, your message contains the information and attachments you choose to send. The app does not automatically attach your library to a support message.

Please avoid including children's information or a complete library backup unless support specifically asks for it. For a library-opening error, you can share the diagnostic details from the app's recovery screen.
